Momentous Monday

>> Monday, May 3, 2010

We had Isaiah's birthday party this past weekend. I love how as he gets older his little personality is becoming more evident. He was shy while we sang Happy Birthday. He was excited while he opened his presents. I think his favorite part of the day was his cake.

Head on over to A Moment Cherished to read more Momentous Mondays.

Before and After

>> Wednesday, April 7, 2010

Here are the before and after pictures that I promised yesterday. Before and after what, you ask? My baby boy got his first haircut.

This first picture is from Easter.

Getting ready......

Bye bye hair.

He is eating crumbs off his arm. We had to bribe him with food to get him to sit still, of course.

His hair now goes straight as soon as it dries. No more curls, but he is still the cutest baby ever. Don't ya think?

My Sweet Kids (pictures)

>> Monday, March 1, 2010

It's been a while since I have posted any pictures on here. My camera is still doing the funny line thing. I need to check on the warranty for it. I have something exciting for you today, because you have been deprived long enough. Pictures!

Friends who are photographers are great, especially when they take pictures of your son at a birthday party and send them to you. The pictures of Jazlyn are older ones taken by my dad. Enjoy.

Separation Anxiety

>> Thursday, January 7, 2010

Here is the definition of separation anxiety according to the dictionairy:

The normal fear and apprehension expressed by infants when removed from their mothers.

Here is the definition of separation anxiety according to me:

The normal fear and apprehension expressed by mothers when removed from their infants.

One day this week I had a busy day. While I was at home during the day I was busy getting some things ready for a meeting I had that evening. Then I had to go to the bank. Then it was the grocery store. Then it was the meeting, which kept me away from the house for about four hours. Just so no one calls the people on me, my husband was off work. I didn't leave my four year old daughter to take care of her brother. I wouldn't do that for the whole day!

Once I did get home for the night, both kids were asleep. Then it hit me. That is what was bothering me all day. You know how you have the feeling when you leave the house that you are forgetting something, but you can't figure out what it is. That is kind of how I felt all day, like something was missing or wrong, only I couldn't put my finger on what it was......until I got home.

I missed my kids. Bad. Really bad.

Since I quit working I haven't been away from them that much. I didn't realize how much I actually enjoy my days with them until I was away from them for almost an entire day. Isaiah of course was his faithful wake-up-every-couple-hours self, so I did get at least a little time with him that night, which kept me from going into complete panic mode. We all woke up bright and early the next morning. Since I was MIA (missing in action, in case you didn't know) the day before, there were dishes in the sink and dirty laundry waiting on me. We, however, spent the morning playing. Everything else had to wait until I had my Jazlyn and Isaiah fix.

Slow Down

>> Tuesday, December 8, 2009

Yes, this is Isaiah standing up. Yes, he pulled up all by himself. Yes, he also got his first two teeth last week. Yes, this makes me happy. Yes, this makes me sad. Yes, my baby will soon no longer be a baby.

Son, I won't be mad at you if you slow down your growing process just a little. Though I am proud of your milestones, I do enjoy my baby still being a baby. Thanks, Mommy.

My boy is growing up

>> Monday, November 30, 2009

My little man is officially crawling. Not just army crawling, but crawling crawling. It is the cutest thing ever. Wish you could see it. He gets up on his knees and hands and rocks back and forth every time, like he is trying to get up his momentum before he takes off to his next point of destination. Soon my little guy will pull up, start walking, and then go off to college. I know I still have a while before the college part, but that is how fast I feel his life is going. He used to be content just sitting in my arms all day snuggling. Now all he wants to do all the time is go exploring.

It is amazing to me to watch him as he figures out the world around him. One of his favorite things to do is bang his hand on any surface it can reach. He has figured out that different surfaces make different sounds. Unfortunately, his least favorite place to bang his hand is on the carpet. So he is constantly going into the kitchen or going by the front door to bang his hand, or whatever he can find, on the ground to make a lot of noise. Maybe he is going to be a drummer someday and is already practicing.

Isaiah is also fascinated by his toys, especially the ones that make a lot of noise. He figures out what buttons to press, wheels to turn, or knobs to pull to make sure that the noises kees coming. Aren't we lucky? Never a quiet moment in this house.

Another thing he loves is mirrors. He has a book with mirrors in it and goes crazy whenever he sees it. His little face lights up and he "talks" to his own image looking back at him.

If you are reading this and have kids, cherish the time you have with them. The dishes and laundry will always be there, but your kid(s) won't. They will remember the "quality" time with mommy and daddy, not how clean their house was as a kid.

Sure, I will clean my room

>> Wednesday, November 25, 2009

I asked Jazlyn to clean her room today. She cleaned her room alright. By cleaning, I mean she picked up all of her toys off the floor and put them on her bed. Then, when she got tired, instead of putting the toys away, she just laid down on the floor and went to sleep.

Yep, that is definitely my daughter.

Everyone have a safe and Happy Thanksgiving!

My sweet boy

>> Monday, November 23, 2009

See this cute boy? It is just he and I this evening. It is not too often that it is just the two of us so I am going to enjoy this time with him. I've made up my mind that I'm am going to have a relaxing evening.

Sometimes I have to force myself to just rest at home. Usually if I am home then there are a million things going through my mind that I need to do. I often have to remind myself that I also need to rest. God rested, so surely we need to rest too right?

So I am going to spend my evening not doing any laundry or cleaning (I hope). It is just Isaiah and me spending quality time together. I am getting anxious just typing this because there is a laundry basket of clean clothes sitting right next to me that needs to be put up. I will not touch the laundry. I will not touch the laundry. I will not touch the laundry.

Intro - Numero Tres

>> Monday, November 16, 2009

This cutie pie is Isaiah. I usually call him Zae, or Zae Zae. He is a happy baby, as long as he is fed and well rested. He already loves food. I will gladly accept any donations to his food fund. He is at that stage where he is discovering the world around him, so he is getting into everything. I do love watching him explore though. He has perfected his army crawl but has yet to figure out that he can raise up on his knees to get around. He is also my little cuddle bug. Jazlyn wasn't big on cuddling so I am thoroughly enjoying this time with him. I know it won't last too much longer. My little cuddle bug, however, does not like to sleep at night. If anyone has any tips on making my nights with him better, I am all ears.

So there you have it. That is our second born, Isaiah. I guess next in line is my hubby, Charles. Enjoy your Monday!
